We have always been passionate about engaged exploration and since 2011, with Expeditions Unlimited, we have patiently developed our proposals for polar expeditions and high altitude mountaineering expeditions. We are attached to the human dimension of exploration as much as to the physical and mental challenge it poses.
From the fourteen 8000s to both poles, from the high mountains to the ice caps, our offer projects us into the world of the few most recognized global operators of which we are certainly the only French-speaking operator.

Bernard Muller High-altitude mountain guide
Bernard supervises our mountaineering courses in the Alps and most of our climbs of Mont Blanc and other 4000-meter peaks in very small groups. He speaks French and English.
From Nanga Parbat in 1979 to Dhaulagiri, Manaslu with Pierre Bégin, Gasherbum II, Everest via the north and south faces, Kangchenjunga, Cho Oyu and Shishapangma, Bernard represents the history of 8000-meter expeditions.
Setting off with Bernard in the Alps is the assurance of a hands-on approach to teaching in the field, and the immense pleasure of talking to a legend of French mountaineering.
Julie Brown Dansercoer Polar Experience Team
Our polar activity at Expeditions Unlimited has acquired its international dimension, not least thanks to our long and fruitful collaboration with world-class Belgian explorer and polar guide, Dixie Dansercoer, who tragically passed away in June 2021 in Greenland.
For some twenty years, Dixie and his partner Julie Brown trained and led a team of polar guides, talented and friendly like the boss, with whom we continue our collaboration. This is the Polar Experience team of guides.
So it is Julie who now leads this top-notch team: Manu, Brecht, Henk-Jan, Karin, Rob and others.
Serge Bazin High-altitude mountain guide
Serge supervises our expeditions in Central Asia and the Himalayas on high- and very high-altitude peaks. He also runs a number of refresher and mountaineering courses on 4000-meter peaks in the Alps. He speaks French and English
Serge has extensive experience of expeditions to 7000 and 8000 meters. He has supervised climbs of Cho Oyu, Manaslu and Makalu.
He regularly guides Peak Lenin, and it was with Serge that we launched the demanding Snow Leopard challenge, which aims to climb the five highest peaks in the former USSR.
Manu Poudelet IPGA polar guide
Manu supervises our polar mahauling expeditions in Scandinavia and Greenland, the Arctic Circle Trail and the West-to-East crossing in particular.
A firefighter and nurse, Manu has developed highly appreciated human and leadership qualities. He has built up his experience in Canada, Svalbard, Iceland and Antarctica on the Belgian Princess Elisabeth Station, where he goes every year. Manu is a certified IPGA - International Polar Guide Association- guide.
In addition to his polar experience, Manu has developed considerable expertise in expedition logistics, which we regularly put to good use for privatized groups. Manu is a member of the Polar Experience team, founded by Dixie Dansercoer and now managed by Julie Brown.
Yorick Vion High-altitude mountain guide
Yorick supervises our mountaineering courses in the Alps and some of our climbs at very high-altitude. He speaks French and English.
Yorick has been a freeride ski competitor on the IFSA World Tour and is a specialist in steep skiing. Yorick has climbed Everest and Lhotse, stopped just below the summit of Annapurna, climbed Manaslu and skied back down. He has climbed as well north faces of the Grandes Jorasses, Eiger and Matterhorn... A top-level mountaineer.

Mika Charavin IPGA polar guide & snowkiter
Mika supervises our snowkiting and ski-kiting expeditions in Greenland and Antarctica, and with him we offer courses and itinerant trips in Norway every winter. Mika is a certified IPGA - International Polar Guide Association - guide.
In 2014, he completed a 5067-kilometer circumnavigation of the Greenland ice cap, the longest journey ever undertaken autonomously on skis, a record to be beaten in 2019 by Geoff Wilson.
Mika is undoubtedly the French specialist in expedition nowkiting, whether in Greenland on the south-north crossing, or in Antarctica with a number of ambitious projects in preparation.
Clément Flouret High-altitude mountain & caving guide
Clément supervises mountaineering and caving courses in the Alps, and some of our high-altitude climbs to 7,000 and 8,000 meters.
Clément has taken part in several caving expeditions, including a major National Geographic project in Papua New Guinea. He joined us at Mustagh Ata and Manaslu. He has climbed the summit of Denali in Alaska. He speaks French and English.
Clément is always up for exploration in white or green environments, on snow-capped peaks or in the most grandiose underground caves.
Brecht de Meulenaere Polar guide
Brecht is a French-, English- Dutch- and Russian-speaking Belgian. He supervises some of our polar ski-pulka expeditions in all the polar regions.
Brecht has accompanied our groups on the frozen Lake Baikal in Siberia, on the Arctic Circle Trail and on the West-to-East crossing of Greenland.
Trained as a guide in Iceland, Brecht has a passion for nature and has developed a knowledge of biodiversity that he is happy to share, particularly in ornithology. Brecht is a member of the Polar Experience team, founded by Dixie Dansercoer and now managed by Julie Brown.
Olivier Bourcet Polar guide & polar training
Olivier supervises our polar courses in the Jura region of France, from beginner to advanced 3-day courses, as well as our crossings of the Jura and Vercors and other traverses in Europe. He speaks French and English.
As a sports mental trainer and mountain trekking guide, Olivier is passionate about the polar and mountain environment. He has taken part in several expeditions to Greenland and the Himalayas.
With his experience and teaching skills, Olivier prepares you physically, mentally and practically for your next expedition.
Climbing above 8000-meter peaks
We offer to climb all fourteen 8000-meter peaks in Nepal, Tibet and Pakistan. We build with you your route to mount Everest, or more simply to your first 8000-meter peak. We accompany you personally, as part of a French or an international group, or as part of a custom expedition.

Multi-activity exploration on the Antarctic Peninsula Sailing expedition
Contacted by an American entrepreneur and adventurer based in California, we created a unique exploration journey to the Antarctic Peninsula for him, a friend and a photographer-cameraman. He wanted to kite in extreme conditions, snorkel – an activity in which he has a very good level – go ashore to make small ascents and come back down snowboarding.
We organized his entire expedition, with the exceptional polar guide Dixie Dansercoer, obtained all the permits and chartered a sailboat with crew. It was a wonderful adventure in Antarctica which resulted in a beautiful film.
Cleaning up waste at very high altitude Ascent of Mustagh Ata (7546 m)
Breffni Bolze and Philippe Goitschel, two environmental enthusiasts, have been cleaning up emblematic sites in extreme environments all over the world for over 20 years. They contacted us to set up their first waste collection expedition at very high altitude.
In July 2019, we organize the entire logistics for the cleanup of Mustagh Ata's normal route, which rises to 7546 meters in China. With a dozen people, they unload 800 kilos of garbage from the mountain at base camp (4450m), camp 1 (5100m) and camp 2 (6200m), and eight of them reach the summit, guided by Bernard Muller, which they ski back down. Their extraordinary project on Mustagh Ata can be seen here in video.
Round-trip expedition to the North Pole Manhauling ski expedition
Contacted by a French industrial entrepreneur, we organized an expedition to the North Pole, the aim of which was to reach the Pole from the Barneo base ski manhauling and then return to Barneo, also on skis.
We convinced our logistics partners and organized the expedition, with the exceptional polar guide Dixie Dansercoer. The drift was very strong that year, and getting to the Pole was a real challenge, especially as they decided to start skiing in the opposite direction. They finally reached the Pole, but didn't have time to ski back before the pack ice broke up. An extraordinary adventure to the North Pole recounted in a beautiful, moving film.
De Expeditie, Greenland Eight episodes on the Arctic Circle Trail
Contacted by a Dutch-speaking Belgian production company, we worked with our friends at Polar Experience to organize a winter expedition to Greenland on the Arctic Circle Trail for eight Belgian celebrities and a staff of dozens of cameramen, sound recordists and others. This expedition required the presence of 5 polar guides, 2 on camera, 3 off camera.
The result was worthy of the efforts of this great team, with the production of eight episodes of a saga called De Expeditie, broadcast on prime time and launched with great fanfare, reaching millions of viewers.
Snowboarding in Queen Maud Land, Antarctica Manhauling ski expedition
Contacted by a Chinese businessman based in China, we created an expedition to East Antarctica, Queen Maud Land, just for him. He wanted to snowboard on the slopes of the Drygalski mountain range. First, it was necessary to ski to the foot of the range.
We organized his entire expedition, together with the exceptional polar guide Dixie Dansercoer, obtained all the permits and enabled him to realize his dream. In the end, he made only a few descents, but came back dazzled!
