Expeditions Unlimited guides you on a number of exceptional expeditions into the world's jungles and forests, guided by the best experts, enabling exclusive encounters with traditional peoples. We go on a crossing with the Matses of Peru on the border with Brazil, and with the Shuars (Jivaros) in Ecuador, in unspoiled territories where few Westerners have ventured. We climb the Carstensz Pyramid at 4884 meters in Indonesian Papua, the highest peak in Oceania and, as such, one of the Seven Summits Challenge summits. We also climb Mount Giluwe at 4367 meters in Papua New Guinea, the highest volcano in Oceania, as part of the Seven Volcanic Challenge. Both of these climbs involve acclimatization treks in the forest, immersed in the environment with our local papuan teams.
Our knowledge of the island of New Guinea, thanks to the experts in our sister business Tamera, dedicated to trekking and adventure journeys, enables us to design, sometimes customize, jungle expeditions in Papua New Guinea and Indonesian West Papua (Papua, formerly Irian Jaya), traverses accompanied by Papuans, in regions still full of traditional peoples with fascinating rituals and festivals, and where few Westerners venture.
We regularly develop rare expeditions in the forests of Asia, particularly in Vietnam and Borneo, and in Africa, notably in the Democratic Republic of Congo. These expeditions are often one-offs, given the logistical complexity and the fact that our Western guides are often busy with other expert activities. Don't hesitate to contact us for any project you may have in mind.
