Expeditions Unlimited, French leading polar expedition company, offers polar expeditions on skis powered by a kite: this is snowkiting, a generic term that includes both skis and snowboard. In expedition snowkiting, the snowboard is almost never used, in favor of two skis, which consume less energy! This polar mode of progression enables us to cover long distances in a relatively short time, with days averaging 70 to 80 kilometers. We make short trips to Norway as part of a training program or for pure pleasure. More engaged, we cross Greenland from south to north, covering almost 2000 kilometers, or even circumnavigate the Greenland ice cap, covering almost 5,000 kilometers. Our polar crossings in Antarctica start from Novo in Queen Maud Land and reach Hercules Inlet snowkiting via the South Pole over 3000 kilometers. We're working on a polar snowkiting expedition on a loop from/to Novo via the South Pole, Vostok, the Argus Dome and Fuji over 5000 kilometers... Finally, we're working on a snowkiting trip and traverse in Alaska.

The physical condition required is at least athletic, and experience of snowkiting and the polar environment depends on the project. These expeditions are supervised by recognized and experienced French and international guides. On each of these expeditions, we offer a H24 medical hotline and, depending upon the project, personalized weather forecast services. We offer snowkiting courses as part of our Adventure School, as well as an unrivalled range of polar expeditions in the Arctic and Antarctic, enabling you to progress serenely towards the expedition of a lifetime.
